1977, a very young DC ‘Plush’ won the industry vinyl mastering shoot-out, cutting ‘Star Wars Sound-Track Album’ for 20th Century Records. His relationship with Alberti (legendary record pressing plant), led to exclusive vinyl mastering for emerging independent record labels: Alternative Tentacles, SST, Slash, Epitaph, et al. ‘Plush’ would assume the vinyl mastering business established 1960 by mentor, industry veteran of seventy years, V.C. By 1994, facilities included four state-of-tech Neumann vinyl mastering systems, and a continuing reputation for service, artistry, and unparalleled technical innovation positioning Plush Vinyl Mastering as primary cutting vendor for Sony, Interscope, MCA, Virgin, Atlantic, Warner, Geffen, Priority, and Deathrow.

The Mastering Engineers Handbook (2000, 2008, B. Owsinski) cites DC Plush as the vinyl mastering / cutting authority. To date Plush Vinyl Mastering has cut 27,117 albums and over 167,000 sides.
